David Ayer’s Suicide Squad drops new trailer set to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody!
Set to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, David Ayer’s Suicide Squad — executive produced by Zack Snyder/Cruel Films — has released it’s first theatrical new trailer. The trailer was debuted by Kevin Smith and Geoff Johns on The CW’s DC FILMS PRESENTS: DAWN OF THE JUSTICE LEAGUE. The special was incredible and if you missed it, that’s tough because huge news came out of it, including several pieces of Wonder Woman as well as concept art for The Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman and Justice League.
Hopefully, DC Entertainment or WB Pictures uploads some of these pieces or the whole special for international viewers to enjoy, but that’s beside the fact. Suicide Squad’s new trailer is one of the most brilliantly paced and edited trailers I’ve seen in quite a while and vividly understands what gets a person into a movie theatre. All of the characters are introduced in orderly fashion, it uses a highly-recognizable — yet not time-sensitive — song and a shit ton of action sequences.
In other Suicide Squad news, FilmMusicReporter just got the scoop that Steven Price will reteam with David Ayer to compose the music for Suicide Squad. Price previously worked alongside Ayer on Fury, and was also set to score Ant-Man for Marvel before Edgar Wright dropped out of the project. Personally I consider Fury to be Ayer’s magnum opus and a true study of the human soul, a definite must-watch for anyone intending on seeing Squad. It stars Brad Pitt, Jon Bernthal and Shia LeBeouf. However, Ayer’s work on End of Watch is technologically amazing as well and it’s certain that he’ll bring the same advancements to Suicide Squad as the trailer introduces so many new techniques to Ayer as a filmmaker, including heavy use of CGI supplement visuals. Anyway, enough talk! WATCH THE TRAILER BELOW!
